✦Where it shows up
But knowing wasn’t enough.
I know how tiring that is. Understanding just isn’t the whole story.
The overthinking.
The moment your confidence disappears.
The reaction you wish you didn’t have.
The fear that shows up just when you’re ready to take a step forward.
The relationship pattern you promised yourself you wouldn’t repeat.
In hypnotherapy we connect with your memories, your feelings, and the beliefs still shaping how you react today.
At your pace. With me right beside you.
This is the part thinking alone doesn’t always reach.
It doesn’t always look like the past.
Sometimes it looks like saying yes when you wanted to say no.
Reading a message six times.
Suddenly doubting yourself when an opportunity appears.
Pulling away when someone gets too close.
Working harder because what you’ve already done never feels quite enough.
Or putting something off for months even though you know you’re capable.
Different situations.
Same feeling.
And sometimes that is the confusing part. You can see what you’re doing. You just can’t always seem to stop yourself doing it.
Sometimes it simply feels like you.
✦How it builds
I think of it a little like carrying blankets.
One belief you formed when you were doing your best to make sense of what was happening.
One experience.
One hurt.
One fear.
Another layer. Then another.
Life keeps moving and you keep functioning.
You work.
Love.
Raise a family.
Build a career.
Take care of people.
Get on with things.
And after a while, you can become so used to carrying the weight that you don’t even realise how heavy it has become.
You just know you don’t want to keep feeling this way.
Hypnosis probably feels more familiar than you think.
Think about those first few seconds when you wake in the morning. Before your mind starts racing.
Before the emails.
The appointments.
The list.
Everyone who needs something from you.
✦For just a moment,
everything is quiet.
Hypnosis can feel a little like that. A deeply relaxed, focused space where the outside noise softens and you get to turn inward.
I guide you into a relaxed, focused state.
You remain aware and in control throughout.
✦Sometimes it just feels good to stop.
✦What happens in the room
So what actually happens in a session?
We talk
You tell me what is happening and what you would like help with. There is no rushing you into hypnosis.
You settle
I guide you into a relaxed, focused state. You remain aware and in control throughout.
We follow what comes up
Maybe it’s a feeling. A memory. A younger part of you. A belief. An image. Or something you weren’t expecting at all.
We don’t force anything.
We bring it back to your life
Afterwards, we talk again. What made sense? What did you feel? What do you want to take with you?
Because insight matters — and so does what happens when you walk back out the door.
The room · Preston, Melbourne
You bring what’s happening in your life.
“Maria, I don’t even know what it is. I just know I’m done feeling this way.”
I listen to what you’re telling me — and I feel what’s underneath it.
You may walk into my room talking about a relationship. Your confidence. Work. A decision you can’t make. Why you keep procrastinating. Why you react so strongly to something you wish didn’t have this much power over you.
Sometimes that’s all you can say. And that’s enough. We start there.
I’ve worked with hypnotherapy for more than 30 years, but I don’t treat it like a script. We talk first. I want to understand what is happening in your life now. And when it feels right, we go deeper.
My work brings together psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, inner-child work, emotional awareness and intuitive guidance. Because no two people walk into my room carrying the same story.
Sometimes the heart takes us somewhere the thinking mind can’t.
If this feels familiar, we can talk.

It happened then.
You don’t have to keep feeling it now.
We look back at childhood with an adult mind. We have experience now. Perspective. Words for things we couldn’t explain then.
The younger version of you didn’t. A child feels. A child watches. A child makes sense of themselves through what is happening around them.
And sometimes beliefs begin to form.
Maybe I need to keep everyone happy.
Maybe I have to be good to be loved.
Maybe it isn’t safe to speak up.
Maybe I have to do everything myself.
Maybe I’m not enough.
✦You can grow up and know those things aren’t true. And still feel them. What we know now doesn’t always change what we learned to feel years ago.
This is where I like to slow everything down. Not judge that younger part of you. Not analyse it to death. Meet it with love and compassion.
What did you feel?
What did you need?
What did you believe about yourself then?
That part wasn’t trying to ruin your life. It was trying to protect you.
Sometimes what comes up surprises you.
My work has always been intuitive. Sometimes what comes forward is clearly connected to childhood, family, a relationship or something happening in your life now.
An emotion ✦ An image ✦ A physical feeling
A memory you haven’t thought about in years
And sometimes it feels deeper.
A family pattern ✦ Something ancestral
Experiences that feel connected to a past life
Your experience leads the work.
✦Before you decide
A few things you might be quietly wondering.
Will I know what’s happening?
Yes. You remain aware during hypnosis. You can hear me, talk to me and stop whenever you choose. There isn’t one correct way hypnosis should feel. Some people feel deeply relaxed. Others feel very focused inwardly. You’re still you.
What if I can’t relax?
Then we work with that. You don’t have to be perfectly relaxed or good at hypnosis. There is nothing you need to perform. We work with whatever feels comfortable for you that day.
Am I going to have to go back to childhood?
Not necessarily. We follow what is relevant to what you have brought in. Sometimes a younger experience comes forward. Sometimes it doesn’t. I’m not interested in forcing you somewhere just because we think the answer should be there.
What if something ancestral or connected to a past life comes up?
Then we can explore it. You don’t need to share my beliefs or anyone else’s. We stay curious about what the experience means to you and what it helps you understand about how you feel now.
Can I do hypnotherapy online?
Yes. I work in person from Preston, Melbourne, and online. For an online session you need privacy, a reliable connection and somewhere comfortable where you won’t be interrupted. Sessions are available in English or Greek.
✦What changes
Coming home to you can look like this.
- Saying no without feeling guilty.
- Being brave and sharing what you think and feel.
- Honouring your worth at work.
- Letting the walls around your heart come down, and letting love in.
- Feeling safe, knowing you haven’t done anything wrong.
- Trusting your own decisions.
Maybe you’ve spent enough time adapting. Coping. Protecting yourself. Being who everybody else needed you to be.
You don’t need to become somebody else.
“Life is too short. Don’t let your past define your future.”
Enough is enough.
This chapter isn’t about trying harder, or becoming a better version of you. It’s about understanding and embracing the parts of you that need more love. Letting your fears soften, and giving yourself permission to be unmistakably you.
More trust.
More freedom.
More joy.
More of you.
You don’t need to know exactly where the feeling began. You don’t need to walk into my room with the perfect explanation. Come as you are.
